Weekly one-liner, monthly narrative, quarterly review

Clients ask for updates when the rhythm is unpredictable, not when information is scarce. Fix the rhythm and the requests mostly stop.

Weekly: one line, sent the same day every week, whether or not anything happened. "Spend on pace, 14 leads, testing new headline set Thursday." Thirty seconds to write and it removes the entire category of anxious Tuesday emails.

Monthly: a written narrative, not a dashboard link. What happened, what we changed, what we are doing next, and one thing that is not working. The last item is what makes the document credible.

Quarterly: a real review with the numbers over a horizon long enough to mean something, plus a decision to make. If there is no decision on the table, it is a status update with a nicer deck.

The failure mode is inconsistency. A brilliant monthly report that arrives on the 3rd, then the 9th, then the 14th, is worse than a mediocre one that always arrives on the 3rd.
